Christine Sun Kim: Oh Me Oh My Monograph

We're thrilled to announce The Gund’s collaboration in Christine Sun Kim's inaugural monographic publication, Oh Me Oh My.

Kim’s Oh Me Oh My sheds light on power imbalances between the hearing world and the Deaf community, celebrating the creative energy that emerges from diverse modes of communication. Through essays, reflections, interviews, and captivating large-scale images, Kim, whose first language is American Sign Language (ASL), employs elements from various information systems to create a dry and humorous visual vocabulary. An artist's monograph is a concise publication of a single artist's work, and this is the first time Kim’s groundbreaking work has been published in such a form.

Oh Me Oh My was edited by Rachel Seligman in collaboration with CAG Vancouver, Remai Modern, Tang Teaching Museum, and The Gund.
